Alisha Ambrose’s artistic journey began as a child where she spent hours in her father’s studio and dark room in New York City. She relocated to Rhode Island as a teenager, spending hours on the ocean. Then, after university, Alisha spent a decade in Edinburgh, Scotland where she immersed herself into the financial world while spending all her free time exploring the Scottish Highlands and Islands and traveling across the globe.

Alisha attended the University of Rhode Island where she earned a degree in applied quantitative economics and - in order to stay sane - also earned a degree in art studio, her true love.

Alisha’s career may have been in finance, but she was always creating. And if she wasn’t creating, she was unsatisfied. After 30 years of working in the financial world, a life-altering accident happened, and everything was turned upside down. While on the way to work she was rear-ended by a distracted driver, resulting in a traumatic brain injury, and almost 12 months in a dark room with no stimulation. She emerged a different person. No longer able to be in front of a computer, suffering a loss of cognitive ability and the onset of daily migraines - she was lost.

Lost until she decided to turn to her love of art and the process of creating.  She remembered her time at art school and how happy she was there.  In art school she had focused on print making, so she decided to once again pick up her carving tools and a linoleum block and get back to carving.

Almost 18 months after Alisha’s life-altering accident she had found her way back to her true love; the love of creating.

Alisha finds inspiration from the ocean and coastal areas throughout the world. She lives in Narragansett, Rhode Island with her fiancée and youngest son.
